Ms. Giaier co-founded “Lassani Art” an art program that worked with youth living in displaced persons camps in post-tsunami Sri Lanka. Other experiences include Painting and English workshops in Honduras to Elementary School children and a university level design class at the Academy of Art in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ms. Giaier received her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Washington in Interdisinplinary Visual Arts with a focus in Metal Arts and Photography. She moved to San Diego to work for The AjA Project, an organization that implements photography projects in City Heights for immigrant and refugee youth. She also taught similar programs for The California Center for the Arts, Escondio. Her work has been shown in Seattle, Portland, Rome, San Diego and Bozeman, Montana. Her Graduate Thesis project was featured on the front page of the Seattle Times.
