As part of the San Diego Museum of Art’s Summer Salon Series, So Say We All has been asked to produce a special storytelling show in the tradition of its lauded VAMP Showcase in honor of the summer installation of Arnold Newman’s photography, “The Sincerest Form of Flattery.”
In keeping with many of the ideas present in Newman’s work, SSWA is soliciting 5-10 minute original true stories on the theme of imitation and pastiche. Do you have a tale about extreme hero worship gone awry? Have you ever played a role even though you knew you weren’t cut out for it? Have you ever seen clearly a moment in your life when your actions made it apparent just how much a product of your parents you really are? Any all all interpretations of the theme will be considered, and we appreciate unexpected takes on the prompt.
All work can be submitted via SSWA’s website at www.sosayweallonline.com through the “submit” button on the right side of the homepage. Between five and ten stories will be chosen and their author’s given an intensive month of writing and performance coaching before performing their works at Helmuth Galleries on Saturday, August 10th.
Submission guidelines can be found here: https://
