“There Will Not Be Blood”

San Diego City Beat covers Opium Magazine’s upcoming Literary Death Match, cosponsored by So Say We All:

“There will not be blood: The last time Literary Death Match came to town, we were a little disappointed that there was no actual death involved. One by one, the competing writers performed their hilarious flash fiction. Then a trio of glib but far-too-kind judges reviewed their work. The ultimate winner was chosen by musical chairs. Lame, we thought. Yet, here we are, a half a year later, totally stoked, even though we know it will be bloodless. Local live-lit-erature collective So Say We All is co-sponsoring the event at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at El Take it Easy (3926 30th St. in North Park). In the melée: NEA recipient (and CityBeat contributor) Jim Ruland, Oceanside author Andy Roe and So Sayers Justin Hudnall and Jess Jollett. $10. literarydeathmatch.com”
