First Things First:

1) So Say We All reserves the right to request edits, change technical concepts, and assume artistic control of any pieces accepted for an SSWA show.
2) So Say We All reserves the right to enforce its “Big Kid Rule,” wherein artists who work with us are expected to behave like adults at all times, maintaining a professional bearing and dignity which includes but is not limited to:

  • Not throwing temper tantrums
  • Meeting deadlines and arriving to engagements on-time
  • Accepting notes and suggestions gracefully
  • Never appearing to rehearsals or performances intoxicated or under the influence of drugs
  • Understanding production decisions are made to benefit the show and are never personal

Failure to comply with “The Big Kid Rule” may result in expulsion from a show, blacklisting by the San Diego Creative Community, and ostracization by friends, family and lovers.

All So Say We All shows are professionally recorded for rebroadcast and internet streaming. By submitting to a SSWA show, you agree that any recordings of your performance are the property of SSWA.

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be e-mailed to info@sosayweallonline.com.
  • Deadlines to submit to an event are listed on its page. It pays to be early so send us your work as soon as possible!
  • Average length of submissions should be around five-minutes, but we will consider longer pieces that merit the additional time.
  • Short stories, poems, monologues, musicians, photographs, fine arts, puppeteers, balloon animal artists, and any other discipline we’ve forgot to mention are encouraged to apply.
  • Details about upcoming shows, including dates and venues, can be found here.

Upcoming Show Themes
2010

August: “Trouble With Authority.” Deadline: August 13th.

September: “The Future.” Deadline: September 10th.

October: “Altered States” – Drugs happen in Southern California. Tell us about how substances legal or illegal influenced your life directly or indirectly. Deadline: October 15th.

November: Culinary Tales: Food does so much more than keep us alive. It’s a ritual that brings together families, it’s an opportunity for lovers to bond or breakup, it can be an addiction, a substitute, a friend, an enemy. What is it do you, how and when has food played a larger role in your life than just sustenance? Deadline: November 12th.

December: TBA

2011

January: “Culture Shock”

Down the road (these shows will be scheduled once we collect enough material):

  • Home: What defines home to you? Have you been without one? Is there a home away from home that’s closer to you than the real thing? Did yours shape you, break you? We’re looking for interesting and unexpected takes on the subject.
  • Culture Shock: Have you been a foreigner, completely out of your element? Whether you’ve found yourself in a strange culture overseas or dating someone from a family totally different to yours, we’re looking for stories and songs about being the fish out of water.
  • El Cajon: SSWA is planning a big Main Stage anthology of stories that revolve around El Cajon. This is very open to interpretation, but we’re hoping for stories that capture the unique aspects of San Diego’s East County cousin.
  • Crisis of Faith: We’re looking for surprising and insightful stories about your contact, conflicts, and relationship with spirituality and the institutions that represent it.
  • Arrogant Bastards: Pride comes before the fall, and then again sometimes it saves the day. We’re looking for shocking, uncomfortable, cringe-worthy stories of being too big for your britches as well as tales of outrageous self-confidence saving your skin and getting you the goods.
  • Green With Envy: Tales of the jealous green giant run amok.
  • “City of Villages” – We’re taking a different spin on how we collect stories in November: any story on any subject will be considered, as long as it has something specifically to do with a place or neighborhood in San Diego. Materials collected from this show will go on to be posted as part of our new story mapping project, as well as being considered for our live show and radio podcast.
